Crossroads Stable offers riding lessons that are structured to be informative and fun. Lessons are conducted on a private, semi private or in a small group setting, by reservation only.
Our instructors stress safety and comfort for both horse and rider. If you're interested in learning to ride, or you need a crash refresher course, our instructors can help you advance quickly.
Children can begin lessons as early as 8 years of age, which is our minimum requirement to be allowed to ride alone. However, we recommend that, unless they have grown up with horses at home, children should be at least 10 years old. We have found that younger children have not yet developed the attention span and ability to follow specific directions that are necessary to handle an animal of this size safely and confidently.
Horseback riding is a healthful pastime that you're never too old to learn. Even the novice older rider will soon be at ease and pleased with the sense of personal accomplishment and satisfaction that comes from learning to care for and ride a horse. So don't worry about your age, we have successfully instructed pupils of well over 60 years of age.
Riding time starts when the instructor enters the arena.
